Agape Educare.

A FOUNDATION FOR LIFELONG LEARNING

Agape Educare is one of Thembalitsha Foundation’s community-based Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres, established to provide young children with a safe, nurturing space for learning and to remove them from unsafe street environments.

What began in 2011 as Agape Educare was the vision of local pastors Thabisa and Linda Mdolomba, the original founders, who sought to nurture young minds and support early childhood learning in Asanda Village.

That legacy continues today.

We aim to bring hope through excellent preschool education, empowering vulnerable learners from under-resourced communities and preparing them for success at school and in life.

We focus on holistic child development, supporting each child’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth.

This builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

WHEN WE TEACH YOUR CHILDREN

Agape Educare offers a structured early learning programme for children aged 2 to 5. Our qualified team teaches essential skills aligned with the Department of Social Development’s guidelines. Through interactive and playful learning experiences, children develop literacy, numeracy, and cognitive skills, preparing them for formal schooling and lifelong learning.

We focus on building curiosity, self-confidence, and social skills by allowing children to:

• PARTICIPATE in structured early learning programmes.
• RECEIVE daily nutritious meals and healthy snacks.
• ENGAGE in indoor and outdoor play opportunities.
• EXPERIENCE values-based learning focused on self-care, kindness, and community.
• ACCESS emotional and social development support.
• DEVELOP early digital literacy through the BelaCoo learning app on Foundation-provided laptops.

Why We Do It.

THE EARLY YEARS OF A CHILD’S LIFE ARE SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT IN SHAPING THEIR FUTURE.

Research shows that up to 50% of a person’s intellectual development takes place by the age of four.

Yet many children in vulnerable communities are left without access to structured early learning, safe supervision, or developmental support while parents and caregivers work. Agape was founded to respond to this need, providing a safe, stimulating environment where children are encouraged to thrive.

Our classrooms offer more than learning; they provide care, structure, and joy during the most critical years.

By delivering accessible and nurturing education, we help bridge the gap for disadvantaged children, giving them the tools to succeed in school and in life.
