Since 1997, we have operated with integrity, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that every donation and decision serves our mission to restore hope and build self-reliance in South Africa’s most vulnerable communities.

As a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC), Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), Thembalitsha adheres to the highest standards of compliance, both locally and internationally.

Governance Structure

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A diverse and committed Board oversees the Foundation’s strategic direction and financial health, with representation in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Our leadership team is comprised of experienced professionals in finance, fundraising, human resources, and programme management.

ANNUAL AUDITS

Independently audited by Deloitte & Touche. Audit reports are available on request and published on our website.

The Western Cape Community Chest conducts an annual vetting process that assesses NGOs’ governance, financial health, and legal compliance, based on the NPO Act and King IV guidelines.

Becoming “Due Diligence compliant” grants access to funding, capacity-building support, and enhanced donor credibility.

iZinga Assist (UK Registered Charity No. 1198317) is a digital verification and compliance platform that bridges Sub Saharan NGOs with international donors.

They rate NGOs for transparency and effectiveness, supporting trust and funding readiness through ratings, training, and donor matching.
