Thembalitsha Foundation

Pinky’s Story

With no healthcare facility or family member able to accommodate and take care of Pinky, she came to our attention in 2017 and for the next 3 years became a patient at Themba Care Hospice. Themba Care Hospice provided her with 24/7 love and holistic care that supported her non-verbal needs. Her smile and joy radiated through our hospice and she enjoyed all the visitors that made a point to stop and interact with her. Pinky’s last years were in a safe and loving environment but she really made a lasting impact on all of us that knew her.

When translated from Xhosa, our name “Thembalitsha” means “new hope”.

Our Aim

At Thembalitsha, we aim to restore and bring a new sense of hope to the destitute, forgotten and vulnerable people of the Western and Eastern Cape.
