The Thembalitsha Foundation (registered non-profit organisation in South Africa) is looking to appoint a Board Treasurer (USA)

Thembalitsha was established the Foundation as a registered Non-Profit Organisation in 1997 in South Africa. Thembalitsha Foundation is committed to addressing the socio-economic challenges of the poor, vulnerable and marginalised people of South Africa by developing them to a point of self-reliance through the provision of healthcare, education and training in order to restore new hope.

 

Based: USA

Key responsibilities: 
  • Keep custody of all funds and keep full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements in books belonging to TUSA.
  • Manage/oversee the bookkeeper to ensure the deposits of all money and other valuable effects in the name of and to the credit of the TUSA in such depositories as may be designated by the TUSA Board.
  • Ensure transfer of TUSA funds to Thembalitsha Foundation as determined by the Board, ensuring accurate accounting of such disbursements.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual/year-end financial reports and yearly budget with the support of the bookkeeper.
  • Submit TUSA Quarterly financial reports to TF Finance Manager to ensure that relevant TF Reports can be on the agenda and Board members are kept informed of the latest situation.
  • Ensure year-end reports to IRS are in compliance with federal and state requirements for 501c.3 nonprofit status with the support of our CPA (Elliott Davis Decosimo).
  • Ensure provision of any financial information needed by Trustees.
